Vision Aquatics
Helping people excel physically, mentally, and emotionally through individualized aquatic adventures

Our Mission
About Vision Aquatics
Vision Aquatics is a partnership between Alexandria Dive Club South, Central Virginia Swim Services, the Charlottesville Gators, the Charlottesville Swans, and Dive Connections.
Mission:
To provide opportunities to all people in Central Virginia regardless of social class, gender, age, and ability; to participate in activities that provide developmental growth and success.
Goal:
To build a state of the art aquatic training and activity center for beginner to Olympic swimmers where people can grow and excel physically, mentally, and emotionally through progressive activity.

Our Vision
We are Vision Aquatics, an organization created by local aquatic-based programs with the vision of serving the greater and expanding aquatic needs of the Charlottesville-Albemarle community.
The recreational aquatic needs of the Charlottesville-Albemarle community are growing much faster than the current and planned pool space can accommodate. Advanced and competitive aquatic programs are no longer able to find water space in recreational pools. Our local public and private high schools have also found themselves without enough space to accommodate their highly-successful programs in competitive swimming and diving.
Our ultimate goal is to build an Advanced Aquatics Center in the Charlottesville-Albemarle community offering both entry-level and advanced aquatic programming to all members of the community including our local schools. Our operation will not be based on general recreational use, but designed for the specific programming needs that are not easily served within recreational public or membership aquatic facility models, such as competition-level swimming and diving training, synchronized swimming, water polo, and flexible private swim lessons for youth and adults.
Our dream facility would involve 3 separate pools; (1) a 10 lane 25-meter competition pool for training and meets and including water polo, (2) a deep water pool featuring two 1-meter boards and one 3-meter board to serve competitive diving, synchronized swimming, and scuba instruction, and (3) a 6 lane 25-meter teaching pool graded from zero entry to 6 feet deep for swim lessons and stroke improvement programs.
Besides the needed welcome/check-in area, administrative offices, locker rooms of appropriate sizes, parking, etc., other desires for the facility include a snack bar, a modest workout gym, wet classrooms, meeting/conference rooms, and viewing areas for spectators.
We realize the ambitiousness of this dream and that we will have to work in stages. We are currently looking to secure a lease on a pool to allow us to continue to grow our programs. We are in the process of architectural drawings and refining a business plan with both short-term and dream-term parameters.
Please stay tuned and check back in often to see how we are progressing. Hoping we can help you follow your dreams…
